What Will We Cover?

Al grano means "straight to the point." This course is for university-level Spanish: literature, translation, and oral exams, built on real texts and real argument, not invented exercises. You'll experience real Spanish in context, practise through guided speaking, express real ideas in real conversations, and, throughout it all, actually have fun learning.

Rather than grammar-led units, each lesson takes a genuine academic challenge — close-reading a text, defending a translation choice, holding your own in an oral exam — and builds outward from it: the language you need, and the cultural instinct that makes it land naturally.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

1. Discuss literary texts critically and persuasively in Spanish, moving beyond a simple plot summary to matters of genuine interpretation and insight.

2. Make and defend real translation choices — handling idiom, register, and untranslatable phrases with judgement rather than literal substitution.

3. Structure and deliver a confident spoken answer under oral-exam pressure, including natural thinking-time strategies.
